Trip to the Skatebarn with Mike Metzger

I wish I could tell you that I drove to the coast just for this reason but that’s not the case. I got a phone call from my mom saying my grandpa (her dad) had died. So I packed a bag and we both drove over to help out and attend the funeral. When I was over there and everything was done I thought I would go see my old friend Mike Metzger and check out the Transition Bikes office.

All I can say is WOW! That place is very organized and I can’t believe how well the place is run. As I started walking to the door to leave I heard Mike say “dude, do you have your camera with you? Because if you do you should go with us to the Skatebarn.”

I cleaned up what he really said but that was the general idea behind it.


So the next day Mike and Kyle Young picked me up and it was on. We got there and after trying to figure out my camera flash (damn thing), I found a setup that worked for there. Phil Sundbaum
was there alone with some other rippers that I didn’t know.

Kyle was learning bar spins while Mike was getting his tables dialed.

Mike broke his bike as predicted. But what do you expect form a guy that rides as hard as he does and is as tall as he is. The guy is a monster!

………that ended the night a bit early but that’s ok. We still love you Mike!
